This is a lovely article by Barbara Hamilton. She won Best in Miscellaneous Class at the Kentucky Cluster in March with her long-time companion Besitos Karman del Khiva. Barbara and Karman have traveled extensively and won many international titles. Congatulations Barbara and Karman on your nice win.
Mesquite lives in Beautiful British Columbia with his co-owner, Debbie Cornell-Charneski, a professional handler. Mesquite, born Aug 8, 2008, is sired by Mexican Champion Allende out of the Multi-Champion Techutli.
Quito, as he is fondly referred to, has the excellent blend of the elegant substance required of a standard Xolo. His almond shaped amber eyes are set into a correctly proportioned head which is set onto an elegantly arched neck. His ears are well set, shaped and compliment his head. With proper height to body length ratio, level topline, slightly sloping croup and correctly set and carried tail, he is a lovely example of the breed.
Like many of our Xolos, he earned a BIS his first time out. Here he is at the NAKC show in Portland, Or. in July of 2008. Handled by Maureen Pinto. Judged by FCI Judge Luis Ortiz. Tito is back at the farm now, working on growing up and dreaming of shows to come.

Tufi is co/owned by Marjorie Tuff and Patricia Hoover. She is a standard Xolo but not a huge one, more like the early traditional standards. She closely resembles the photos of the early Xolo females that were brought from Tlapehuala in the 50’s. She moves effortlessly and with beautiful reach and drive. She was sired by Chak-Tepal, the top producing male standard xolo. To date, he has sired two World Champions, Mexico and Tehuana, and one Junior World Champion, Toro.
